Day 1
Avignon -> Saint-Rémy-de-Provence // 33 km // 190m positive elevation

I suggest starting your tour in Avignon. You arrive the day before and stay overnight in a 3-star hotel located a few minutes’ walk from Avignon Centre station. The next day, hop on your bikes and head south! Leave Avignon by crossing the Durance. Now it’s time for the most beautiful Provencal villages: Barbentane and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, passing through the Abbey of Saint-Michel-de-Frigolet. Spend the night in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in a 3-star hotel.

Day 2
Saint-Rémy-de-Provence -> Apt // 57 km // 250m positive elevation

This stage has the most bike paths. Indeed, you take an old railway line converted into a greenway. As evidence, you will see old stations along the way. Cross the Durance to be at the foot of the Luberon from Cavaillon and Robion. You follow the northern part of the Luberon until you arrive in Apt to spend the night in a 3-star hotel.

Day 3
Apt -> Lagnes // 39 km // 480m positive elevation

This stage is the most hilly; your thighs will get a good workout. But the route is worth it, and you will be rewarded for your efforts by the Provencal gems you will pass through: Roussillon and its ochres, Gordes and its luxury, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and its famous spring, finally arriving in Lagnes, where you spend the night in a 3-star hotel.

Day 4
Lagnes -> Avignon // 31 km // 100m positive elevation

The last stage to complete this Provencal bike tour. You leisurely return to Avignon to spend the night in the same hotel as at the start. Along the way, you will pass through the charming town of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. You will be charmed as you stroll along the canals winding through narrow and historic alleys. Cross small bridges and observe the large waterwheels covered in moss, powered by the Sorgue.”
