Begin your trek at Taman Sari Buwana in the untouched village of Tunjuk. As you prepare, anticipate the scenic routes ahead. Your first stop is Subak Kelasem, where you can admire vast rice fields and observe local farmers engaging in “metekap” – the traditional method of using cows for plowing.

From there, journey on to Subak Babakan. Along the way, you’ll cross a serene river and pass by a sacred temple. This area offers breathtaking views of rice terraces set against a backdrop of distant blue mountains. As you walk, you might spot the Subak temple where farmers often give thanks to Dewi Sri, the rice goddess. If you happen upon a ceremony, feel free to join the locals in their rituals.

Continuing from Subak Babakan, make your way to a water dam, passing through a lush coconut plantation. Here, locals will demonstrate the age-old art of coconut tree climbing. Take a moment to refresh with a young coconut drink.

Your path then takes you along a picturesque riverside leading to a pig farm. Engage with the staff, inquire about their practices, and learn more about the local farming methods. Nearby, you’ll walk by a Hindu cemetery, offering another dimension to your journey.

As you approach the end of the cemetery, you’ll be treated to a unique landscape: rice fields framed by towering coconut trees. Wander through Beng Village, soaking in its ambiance and daily activities. Engage with a local Balinese family, learn the craft of making traditional offerings, and indulge in “jajan” – a Balinese rice cake delicacy.

To conclude your adventure, enjoy a traditional Balinese set menu lunch with a welcoming local family, marking the end of your memorable trek at Taman Sari Buwana.
