The Ardèche Mountain, a territory of high plateaus, is one of those mountainous territories of the Massif Central combining altitude and relatively gentle relief where the practice of Nordic ski touring is essential. From the Auvergne, under the Mont Mézenc (1753 meters high) starting from Les Estables, this Nordic ski tour follows the eastern edge of the Massif Central, overlooking part of the Cévennes. The itinerary follows the watershed and the GR7® at an altitude of more than 1,300 meters. It crosses large forests that contrast with vast stretches of immaculate pastures with a “Great North” atmosphere. The Nordic ski touring route crosses countless peaks with atypical dome shapes. You will discover the Mont Gerbier de Jonc and the Sources de la Loire, the ”giant table” of Coux or the ”giant molehills” of Sépoux and Séponet. All of them are ancient volcanoes that bring originality to this mountainous territory of the Massif Central. Here, the Nordic ski tourer discovers every day varied landscapes with panoramas where the view is over a large part of the Massif Central, from the Cévennes to the Auvergne.

Day 3 – Ski touring from Villevieille to Sagnes and Goudoulet

Day 4 – Ski touring from Sagnes and Goudoulet to Rousset du Lac

Day 5 – Ski touring from Rousset du Lac to Mazan l’Abbaye

Day 6 – End of the stay after breakfast and transfer to Les Estables
